Harper is having her surgery tomorrow so i thought I would take some pictures of her head to compare with after surgery.

Here is a comparison from 6 weeks old

  1. I saw Harper's name mentioned on the Facebook cranio page. Harper is so stinkin' cute! If you remember, my daughter Elsie had metopic surgery at 7 months back in March. You will be absolutely amazed at the change in Harper's head shape. It will take a long time for the swelling to completely go down. I hope they are right about the eye's not swelling because that was the worst part I think. When she could finally peak open and see us and smile, we cried! At 3 months post surgery, her head is still "mushy" in spots which they say is normal and her forehead is pronounced. Also normal they say. The scar is barely noticeable with her hair filling in. Be prepared to shave all her hair if needed. My niece had the surgery and they had a terrible time cleaning her wound so they shaved it when they got home. For Elsie, they told us not to touch it and her hair was short anyway. The helmet isn't a bad idea. Elsie didn't have one. She's learning to pull up and is speed crawling. She hits her head often and cries when she does. Sometimes I cry too. Anyway, I'm so glad you are finally at surgery time. It will all be over with soon. I will say a few prayers for you. Take care!
